Soon they develop a bond and there is a classic case of mini adventures and Rose standing up for herself, character development from being timid and soft to a bold self-confident. Fast forward to when put on a lifeboat, she jumps off it showing the true extent of their love plus a character of the villain also develops as Rose's bride-to-be loses his cool and snaps, from being a rich aristocratic gentleman to a cold-blooded murderer.
